Moving water

Our white water courses are aimed at those looking for a more challenging paddle. If you feel confident on easy moving water, and would like to experience the thrill and excitement of paddling your way down the rapids in style, then take a look at our range of white water courses. 

White Water Activities List
1 Day Introduction To White Water Kayaking

This one day course is for adults and children who would like to specialise in White Water Kayaking. You will be given an introduction to moving water safety and river reading, whilst developing your paddling skills and techniques, such as breaking in/out and ferry gliding.

Adult Introduction To White Water Kayaking

This course will be run in closed cockpit kayaks on the white water course, on 4 and 6 cumecs.

Youth Introduction To White Water Hot Dogs

This course will take place on the flat water and white water using open inflatable kayaks called Hot Dogs. It's been designed to be on the white water course running at 4 cumecs.

Youth Introduction To White Water Kayaking (4 Cumecs)

This course will run in closed cockpit kayaks and will develop on the skills and experience acquired from previous courses. It's been designed to be on the white water course running at 4 cumecs.

Youth Intermediate White Water Kayaking (6 Cumecs)

This course will build on previous skills and run in closed cockpit kayaks on 6 cumecs.

Slides, Drops & Waterfalls

This courses is all about learning and developing skills need to safely run these types of river feature.

Maintaining Momentum

The aim of this course is to transfer the skills and techniques learnt on an artificial White Water course to a natural environment.

Introduction to Freestyle Kayaking (4 weeks)

This course has been designed for people who wish to try freestyle kayaking. It aims to develop your moving water skills, i.e hole positioning, spins, surfing, cartwheels, and loops (depending upon your ability).

Introduction to Freestyle Kayaking (White Water)

This course is designed for adults and children who wish to try white water freestyle kayaking. It aims to develop your moving water skills, i.e hole positioning, spins, surfing, cartwheels, and loops (depending upon your ability).

IRF Guide Training and Education (GTE)

Guide Training Program

Is a structured course which is a prerequisite to obtaining any GTE certification.

The following topics will be covered:

Physical Skills- rafting techniques, crew training and management, emergency and rescue techniques.

Theoretical and Practical Knowledge - equipment (types and usage), safety and emergency procedures, river hydrology, leadership and signals.
