Summer is everyone’s favourite time to escape the city and head out to the beach, or hit the water with a high-adrenaline activity such as white water rafting or surfing. But what’s there for you to do if you are not a fan of getting soaked, despite the sunshine?

At CIWW, we cater to all tastes, so we’ve thought about our non-aquatic guests as well! Here’s a few of the fun activities you can sign up for if you prefer to stay away from the currents:

Climbing wall

Giving ‘high and dry’ a positive spin, our climbing wall is perfect for mixing adrenaline with a rewarding workout. From complete beginners to seasoned enthusiasts, climbers of all ages are welcome to flex their muscles on our wall and challenge themselves to make it all the way to the top.

Over the course of an hour and a half you’ll have the chance to stick your claws into this trial and fire up your limbs so you can conquer the heights. We’ll provide all specialist equipment and coaching – the only requirement is that you are 107cm or taller.

Those thirsty for more heights can head over to our Air Trail once they’ve conquered the wall for a series of high ropes obstacles suspended above the CIWW course.

Air Trail

Don’t be fooled into thinking that high ropes are just for children! Our Air Trail is a thrilling high ropes adventure for kids and adults alike, designed to take you on a bird’s view tour of the CIWW white water course.

Exciting obstacles along our steel and timber terrain include a Barrel Crawl, the Burma Bridge, Monkey Swing, and of course a Zip Wire. Once again, no equipment or experience is required, so you can tackle the heights as a novice or a pro – either way, this course won’t fail to impress!

Minimum height of 132cm and a maximum weight of 18 stone apply to this activity, but children 107cm or taller can take part if accompanied by an adult.

Bike Hire

If the heights are not for you and you’d rather stay firmly planted on the ground, we also offer bikes for hire. Perfect for a last-minute outdoor family adventure, our bike hire doesn’t require pre-booking and provides the perfect opportunity to explore the scenic Cardiff Bay Trail.

Spanning over 10km (6.2 miles), the Cardiff Bay Trail winds through Cardiff Bay all the way to Penarth via Pont y Werin bridge, filling your journey with spectacular waterfront views, fresh sea air and rich Welsh heritage peppered along the road.

We provide bikes and helmets on site – all you need to bring is a photo ID for lead booker.

Yoga

Ground yourself even more thoroughly with our yoga classes. Suitable for both complete beginners and yoga enthusiasts, the classes are designed to improve flexibility, balance and strength, as well as improve focus and mind-body connection.

Taught by the expert yogi Ceri, our classes incorporate elements of Hatha, vinyasa and ashtanga yoga for a well-rounded practice designed to stimulate both body and mind.
