This workshop is for people looking to become an International Rafting Federation (IRF) Instructor which is widely recognised as the world standard. IRF Instructors are able to deliver Guide Training and Education Programme (GTE), assess guides and trip leaders. 

The assessor will walk you through the process of running the guide education program. During the workshop you will be involved in guide and trip leader assessment. So you have a good understand of the level need to pass assessment. 

On successful completion of the workshop you will be a provisional instructor. For your full instructor sign off you must be observed/ assisted, by an assessor, running a workshop. 

 

Pre Course Requirments

Training:

  • Aged 18 or over
  • Valid 16 hours First Aid training (must include CPR) 
  • Logbook of experience  

Assessment: 

  • Hold Provisional Instructor status
  • Valid 16 hours First Aid training (must include CPR) 
  • Aged 18 or over

*Not including IRF Fee’s for certification Guide USD$40, Trip leader USD$70, Instructor USD$130.

All IRF awards are valid for 3 years when supported with a valid first aid certificate.
