Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) is one of the world’s fastest growing water sports. Over the past few years, it has become huge in the USA and Australia and is now going mainstream in the UK.

SUP is a highly accessible, fun and social way to enjoy sea or inland waters. Almost anyone can do it, whatever your age, skill or fitness level. 

Within just a couple of hours, you will have mastered the basics and our full range of courses cater for all abilities.

Stand Up Paddleboarding Taster (Sunday)

We now offer 2 hour Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) taster sessions for adults on Sunday mornings and afternoons. 

Ladies Only Introduction To Stand Up Paddleboarding

Womens Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) has arrived at Cardiff International White Water. We are offering small classes that will get you afloat and paddling using one of the best ways to travel. If you are looking for a low impact way to exercise whilst making the most of the outdoors, then why not give womens SUP a try?!

Stand Up Paddleboarding Yoga

Join us and Woman Kind Yoga for one of our unique SUP Yoga Sessions at Cardiff International White Water. During the sessions, you will be guided through an introduction to the paddle boards, a warm up and introduction on how yoga can be transferred onto the water!

Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Social

Join fellow SUPers interested in paddling as a group on an organised session and enjoy the chance to meet and paddle with likeminded people and share experiences. SUP Social is open to everyone who has taken part in a CIWW SUP session -  including courses and taster sessions.

BC Stand Up Paddleboarding Support Module

This course is designed to assist anyone who wants to gain more knowledge about the specialist discipline of Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP).

The course introduces and explains the basic techniques and develops an understanding of SUP. The course is a mix of theory and practical activity to ensure everyone has time to try things out.

By the end of this module participants should have achieved the following learning outcomes:

 
  • Understand the worldwide development of the sport and the role of the various bodies on the field including British Canoeing.
  • Understand equipment design, size and modification to suit individual requirements.
  • Provide a background to the various disciplines within SUP paddling and the specific techniques that apply to each.
  • Understand the different types of board available, their characteristics and the different techniques used on them.
  • Understanding of handling an SUP efficiently.
