Welcome to the world of stand up paddle boarding

Whether you are an athletics enthusiast or a casual adventure fan, you would have heard of the increasingly popular water sport SUP. The SUP abbreviation stands for stand up paddle board or paddle boarding – a combination of surfing and canoeing / kayaking which involves standing on an oversized board and using a canoe-style paddle to move through the water.

Paddle boarding lessons owe their popularity to their suitability for groups, as well as the fact that they offer a great way to enjoy the flatwater and get a full body workout at the same time. SUP is a highly accessible, fun and social way to enjoy sea or inland waters. Almost anyone can do it, whatever your age, skill or fitness level.

SUP for kids: children's paddle board summer courses

Running over the course of the summer holidays, CIWW’s SUP for kids introduces children to the ocean in what we hope is the start of a lifelong friendship. Run in an inclusive, non-competitive environment, our junior SUP paddle programme focuses on building self-esteem amongst youngsters.

Kids SUP courses are currently available at only a handful of locations across the UK and the CIWW children's SUP paddle programme is among them.
